CA verification letter states that a CA is his client. How do I find out who is the original debt holder and amount of debt?

An aggressive CA (Hayt) is now holding a debt from Palisades CA. I do not konw who is Palisades, nor the original debt.

I sent request for veirfication letter to Hayt. Hayt replied that Palisades CA is thier client. Hayt also replied that Palisades has 10 days to decide to file for judgement. How can I get info regarding orinal debt?

Hi tholliday,

Welcome to this community :)

Send a debt validation letter to the collection agency through certified mail, requesting a return receipt. Also pull a copy of your credit report to check if you have any such account listed on it.

The CA is supposed to send copies of your original signed contract with the creditor, the payment details and proof that they have the authority to collect the debt. If the CA fails to validate the debt you can dispute the item with the credit bureaus.

Thanks,

Aaron
