#goodnatured - Says,

No, I will survive, got a few bucks, not many left to get my brake line, we built the bed yesterday and I painted it, we put the box spring in, just waiting on the mattress, can't hall it in my car though. Hopefully hubby will have the time to fix the truck or I can have my younger brother haul it for me, he could use a few bucks anyway.
#Dadummy - Says,

Well you said in the other post that he has a few days off for hunting, tell him to head to the garage and put that brake line on first. Besides if he gets a bear he will need the truck anyway to take it in right, where we live you have to haul them to a weigh station, so he will need the truck as bad as you if he gets his bear. I hope you have better luck this week with your vehicles.
#Laura - Says,

Bears and trucks....seems related....where is the forest by the way? Smile
#goodnatured - Says,

Yeah, I live in the sticks. Just went out and bought my stuff to fix my brakes, Just a little over $30, not bad, hopefully hubby will get it done so I can get my mattress before my coupon expires.
#debtstinker - Says,

Hey good, that's awesome that you got all that done on the bed, the frame, the painting and all! hope you get your mattress soon
#Dadummy - Says,

You probably saved alot of money, head boards are really expensive, you framing out the entire bed probably saved you a couple hundred. Hope your child enjoys it for years to come, it will probably last forever. Did you do the shelving on the head board or some type of design, I bet it is beautiful. Thing about projects like this is, it will last forever and it was built just for her. I think you guys are awesome for doing this.
#goodnatured - Says,

Saved a couple hundred bucks on the whole project, I already had a box spring so did not have to purchase it. I have some more work to get done in her room, I want to do some shelving and a child proof entertainment system where the television can not be pulled forward. I have to wait on my sister to come and get this huge television before I can move the smaller one back into her room. Should be in the next few weeks.
#debtstinker - Says,

wow, can i contract you to make a bed for my sister? we bought her a mattress and boxspring set from a warehouse/outlet store here in town and she said that one night something poked her, it was one of hte springs! she needs a frame in the worst way. we do too...i think our baby has the best deal of all. I mean we've been married now for almost 4 years and we're both approaching 30. we don't have furniture that matches yet our toddler has all his furniture matching. oh to be a baby again!
#goodnatured - Says,

LOL, your kidding right debt, you would need a tractor trailer to move this thing, LOL. It is heavy. You can buy just the rails for the bed at furniture stores to get it up off the floor for around $30. We had a nice head board for our bed, so we just purchased one of those. They have caster wheels on them, so everytime hubby sits on the bed he pushes it my way, he does not put it back either. Kind of like the toilet seat issue. My four year old gets so mad at him, LOL. He purposely leaves it up in her bathroom. LOL
#Dadummy - Says,

You would have to draw pictures as to where parts go, tear it apart and ship it in pieces. I think it is great that you guys built it for her. I bet you will do a great job on the shelving and entertainment system too. She must feel so special.
#goodnatured - Says,

I think I will just give debt the directions and let her go for it, LOL.

Me and the kid took all of the old christmas cards and cut and glue them on to a huge piece of table paper. It is a really neat idea, we hung it on her bedroom wall. She tells a little story about the village, all the houses are in one area. another story about the animals that are all off to themselves and then the many faces of santa. It came out pretty cool and it was something fun to do with her. She really liked doing it.

#Dadummy - Says,

Ok, debt get your saw and drill out, I guess you are building your own bed. I like your ideas that you do with your child, my question is where do you get all the energy? Sounds like she keeps you very busy or do you keep her very busy? I think all the little things you do with her will continue to build a close relationship through out her life. You two will probably be best pals through out it all. You sound like a great mom.
#goodnatured - Says,

I just hope that I am giving her the tools that she needs to be a productive citizen that makes good decisions. Hopefully, we will continue to build a good relationship, especially for those difficult teenage years. She is a sweet girl with a very determined personality. Hopefully what we do know will result in something good later.
#Laura - Says,

It is very important to build a healthy relation with the child to take proper care during the teen age. I see my mother falling short of temper to the indecencies of my sister. She is on the threshold of teenage. Just completed 13. Maa says that when I was young she was young as well so tackling the child was easier but with age she does not have the patience. So I have taken the place of my mother in my sisters life. Hope to succeed in making her a perfect woman.
#Dadummy - Says,

It is hard with the generational gaps, it does take lots of patience and you must have a more open mind these days. I watched a Dr. Phil show the other day and he says to compromise with a teenager as long as their life is not in jeapordy. He says that if you give them a good, solid foundation they will make the right choices. I believe this whole heartedly, most kids that can communicate with their parents do.
