But this negotiation should be done before you start paying them off

Definately the best advice here. You can not relize just how exasperating it is to dodge collectors or the worst part when they first resell the debt to a new agency and they hound you and family members for months.

GOODNATURED.....I'm gonna go back to your comment. " pay back what you owe." I've already done that. However, the CA is telling that I have to "legally pay back all of the fees, too." I just don't think i will.

SD I am pretty sure you will have to pay back the fees. GN isn't on here alot much so maybe you should leave her a PM so she can answer this question.

I wouldn't and you know what if they are not cooperative they will just sell it off to another and hopefully they will be more cooperative. you know how it works sd, just give it some time. How old is the debt?

Well I would attempt the debt validation to see if they are legally able to collect it.

Hi Chargers
You need to pay back the entire outstanding debt including their fees because the fees also constitute a part of the debt. However, before paying off the debt if you can negotiate with the collection agency for a discount on the outstanding debt, you can avoid the fees. Most of the CAs may settle for 60 to 80% of the outstanding debt. But this negotiation should be done before you start paying them off. You should check you credit report for the outstanding amount of the debt, they have mentioned there.

I've received offers, as well....."if I pay so & so amount." I look on my CR (if possible) and I see if the debt is on there. If it is, then I look at the SOL. USUALLY alot of these CA's want you to 're-start' the debt (the SOL time wll start over) and I wouldn't want to do that. Just some 'personal experience' advice for all of you. Very Happy

Hello,
My name is Charles Miller, I want to advice anyone out there who needs credit fix to please consult Credit Wizard today on the email Address THECREDITWIZARD@WRITEME.COM. After I contacted him and explained how bad my credit was, miraculously, he delivered on my credit and my score was increased to a high 800 (excellent) removing all negative items including late payments, criminal charges and replacing them with positive trade lines. My advice to you reading this now is for you to be careful with the type of hackers you entrust your information. Goodluck!

Subject: How I raised my score to over 200points in less than 30 days

Hi, I applied for a loan to boast up my new business about a couple of weeks ago. To my greatest surprise my score was very low of 599 and I was rejected, I almost lost with no hope until I ran into an old friend whom I explained my problem to and she introduced me to Hack West who helped her fix her bad credit. I have no choice and I decided to give them a try and they helped me to raise my credit score to 807. I had a bet with my friend I was going to reveal this company to the world if he should fix my credit score. Well here I am recommending: (HACKWEST@WRITEME.COM) for your Credit repair, Chex system and DUI fix. You can also contact via (424) 307 2638. I’m sure you’ll share your own testimony to the world as well after they are done fixing your ailing credit.
