Phone calls

I owe money to a credit card provided by Dell Financial. I have missed payments due to budget cut backs. Now I have the financial company calling me at work practically every week asking for $77.00!! I've asked them to stop calling my work place and gave them my personal phone number, but they insist on calling me at work! What can I do (besides getting them their money) to make them stop calling my work place??

Hi Gamz,

They are trying to collect the money from you in this way. The creditor cannot call you anywhere and anytime. That is against the FDCPA. You can write a letter to the creditor stating that you are not allowed to take such calls at your work station and that this is not a legal practice. Also tell them that, if they continue in this way, then you can take legal action against them. Try to repay the debt ASAP.

Hi Gamz,

I would definitely let them know that it is illegal to be calling you at work. But if it's anyway possible I would try and work something out with them even if you can only pay like $10 a month. Because after they stop calling you at work they will still find a way to call you. They will even call your cell phone if you have one. And plus you will end up having a negative item on your report for the next 7 years.

do you have legal documents?
I will suggest to fix meeting and settle issue.

Thanks to all who responded to my question! I have written a letter to the creditor and I haven't had a call since then. I've also taken your advice on working out a payment plan. Thanks, guyz!
