I have just been contacted by Rhonda from Frederick Hanna and I called them to find out what was going on. I have a debt with Bank of America but I guess it is now with FH. Background story, I have been in a pending divorce for 3 years now. No kids and anything we might've had is pretty much going to the lawyers by now. All this because of a bitter ex-husband. Anyway, I got in trouble with my credit cards and now I do not have the ability to pay. After answering some of JH's questions (I should've read these posts first), I finally felt that I should no longer continue the conversation. They asked me about maybe not paying my car payments for a couple months so I can pay them. I told them I couldn't do that as I needed my car to get to work. I had also told them that BofA tried to settle for $14k. Then Northstar tried to settle for $11k. Now JH wants to settle for 17K!
Per everyone's suggestion, I sent them a VOD letter today through certified mail and I guess I'll just have to wait and see. I am in Carson City, NV.
Does anyone know how FH does their collection in the area?
