No, they cannot do that. This is illegal. They cannot make any deduction before court issues a judgment ordering your employer to "garnish" or withhold a portion of your wages or bank accounts to pay back the debt.
Since, you do not have a judgment order against you; you may negotiate with your creditors and request them for extending the time.
