You can do it on your own if you plan it out properly.

If you can make timely payments to your creditors, it will start to show on your report. Do not open too many accounts which you cannot maintain.

Also if you are facing difficulty making payments, contact your creditors & negotiate to keep your accounts current and from being reported as delinquent or bad debt.

These are some of the steps that can be helpful for you repair your damaged profile.

First is getting your credit report to see what's on it. Then start attacking the blemishes on it. The smallest ones first. You can do it on your own. So do whatever is necessary. Talk to your creditors and negotiate payment arrangements, fnance charges, etc. Commit to the task. Plan ahead. Be aware if you are not going to be able to make a payment two or three months down the line. Take action in finding extra income (new or second job) then. Don't wait until the two or three months come to past and you have done nothing. It's your responsibility to know what is coming in your future. Credit makes a big impact on your future so that's all the more reason to plan ahead. Good Luck!
