I took out Zip19 internet payday loan in 2011 it was for 400$. I have paid back more than 400 in fee's and they were even debiting my credit card without permission because I had (stupidly) given them my account information to make payment arrangements. Out of the blue I get a call that they are trying to collect on a balance. I live in Louisiana, What rights do I have to not pay them anymore money. How can I get them to quit calling me?
Zip19 is an illegal lender all over the state of US. You owe them nothing more than the principal balance. As you have already overpaid them, so ask them for the refund. Close down your old bank account and open a new one to stop debiting money from your account. Send them a Cease and Desist letter in writing to stop calling you. After that if they are still trying to harass you, file a complaint against them to the SAG or FTC.
