Welcome to our forum, first off wanted to let you know that you are not alone, many people have trouble with these companies. You really need to go to the debt forums, just go to the top of the page and click the debt button. You will find that their are many people there, just like you dealing with this same issue, people there are freindly and willing to help you. You will need to give them the information that they need to help, like what companies they were? Were they store front or internet loans, also I am going to pm you the link where you can find Michigans stand on pdls, they are legal there, so check your pm's here and then go to the debt forum and post your question as well. goodluck and hang in there, you will make it out of this mess.

Everytime I hear payday lenders my first thought is "OOOHHh NNoo". Please take goodnatured's advice and go to the debt forum. These type of companies have been making so many peoples lives miserable. You can get some good solid advice on how to handle this situation from HONEST people who have been there before. Hang in there.

I was once one of those people and that is how I ended up at the debt forum, thank god those days are over, they are crazy.

I got an ad, in the mail, about a PDL. Looked pretty good ( YEAH...RIGHT!!). Said they "only charged $20.00 per $100.00 barrowed." This is actually alittle less than other PDL's out there. Anyway...as I was reading the Fine Print, it stated the PDL Company would charge a "ONE TIME APPLICATON FEE of $30.00" ( reguardless of your 'approval' status) as soon as you type in your bank information. How can companies legally do this? It's a disgrace!!

That is why they are called scams. The offers they show are lucrative but it is on you to read the fine prints.

Sometimes, I'm TEMPTED to get a PDL, if I'm having a 'bad' month. But.....I keep telling myself, what I DON'T have to pay ( their HIGH %) if I DON'T get one. Sure don't want to get into that cycle again.

We both know the pain it will cause in the long run sdchargers, hang off as long as you can and you will be better off.

I agree to wait it out...there are so many scams out there, you can never be too careful!

I just got an email from a lender that I used some time ago, they are going to send me a card and with a phone call they will load $500 on the card, how convienent is that. It is 500 fast cash, has anyone dealt with this company? I have, I did not have any problems with them but I paid them off very quickly, just wondering what the card is all about.

I thought I would keep it in my wallet for an emergency, I have been doing pretty good about not over spending these days. I want to get far enough a head here in the next month or so to start making double payments on my car and get rid of that payment. I don't know what has made me focus so clearly lately, but I have. It is so much more comforting not being under the stress of the pay day loan hell.

Could you call the m and get a few details? That would be my advice. What is the company who is doing this?

Well I did and it is just another payday loan, only they load it on a card and you can go to any atm and pull the money out. They just send the card to make you feel special.

No thank you!!!!

Don't need any of their cards. Thise guys are crooks. Are you a little bored? Looks like you pulled every post I ever made and answered them......

I just go into the "since my last visit" posts and answer them. Not on purpose. LOL.

When I do that it never pulls up all my posts, especially if I don't answer all them at one sitting. After I answer all the one on "since last visit" then I go to "all my posts" and find a few that got lost. Most of them are recent.

I just bounce around till I find the ones that intrest me, I think I do a lot more reading then posting.

I always go to the ones that interest me the most. Soemtimes I see the topic has been replied to and answer those ones first. Lately I have had alot more time to jst answer mostly all of them. The only ones I don't like is when a debt collector comes in and invades space or a consolidation company appears once to lure in customers. I don't feel this is the place for it.

I know but there is no way to keep them out, just have to keep your eye out so that you can warn new people that comes here. The new people may think that because they are posting on here that they are endorsed or backed by the site. I have a feeling that they will continue to come here in hopes to lure people in. I will be here to question it everytime and I am sure that others here on the forum will too.

GN thta is exactly my worry. New people really can misinterpret their help. I know when I first came I was a little confused about why they were here and figured the site approved them. I have since caught on but someone in a really vulnerable situation may not relize until too late. I guess the best way is as you stated...jusr warn people when they are lurking about.

When I was doing a blog, I put a disclaimer in place that said that my site had no affilliation with the ad.

Wed, 09/17/2008 - 02:16 Permalink

That would be the proper way to do it but it seems other places do not understand that word.
