my wallet got stolen, and when i reported my card lost or stolen, my credit score took a dive. Why is this, and will it take forever to go back up?

I don't think that your credit score has lowered only because you have reported the loss of the card. I think that some negative listing has been added in your credit report and for that reason your credit score may have gone down. Ask for a credit report and find out the reason for the decrease in your score.

I also think that your credit score has not gone down only because of your reporting for the loss of your card. There may be some other reason for the dive. So order a new credit report to find it out.
