I believe I mayhave been scammed for my identity as I have given my SS# and birthplace to a phone caller. What is the procedure to stop any possibility of identity theft.

OMG, you should follow some steps immediately!

  • File complaint with FTC.
  • File complaint with local police.
  • Contact fraud department of any of the three Consumer Reporting Agencies
  • Close the accounts that you think to be vulnerable of such attack, contact your bank, credit card companies and ask their suggestions.

Visit FTC’s guideline on ID Theft:
BTW, I am not a lawyer, I am here to share what Life has taught me.
