Put your question here ...MY HUSBAND HAS 2 ERRORS ON HIS REPORT THAT NEED TO BE CORRECTED. HIS NAME IS VERY SIMILAR TO HIS GRANDSON'S NAME AND THERE IS MUCH CONFUSION REGARDING HIS CREDIT AND FRAUDULANT ACTIVITY.

If you want to correct any error on your husbands credit report send a letter of dispute to the credit bureau. Here is a book on sample letters if you require that http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/books/sampleletter.pdf

Enclose the proofs you need when you send this letter to the credit bureau. They might include canceled checks showing timely payments, paid off accounts, loans etc. You should also keep a copy of your letter to yourself as you might need them sometime. Send your letter through certified mail. This is a sample of the letter that you need to write to the credit bureau mentioning the problem that you are facing.

Dear Sir/ Madam,
This is a letter to request for the removal of inaccurate information on my credit report. This inaccuracy has resulted in many inconveniences.

I do understand that you have a huge work load and this would have been a minor flaw. But this has curbed my financial options. For your convenience I am sending you the proofs of the items you need to verify. According to the law these changes must be made at the earliest. Otherwise you are likely to violate the federal law.
Please complete the changes at the earliest and send me a copy of the changed credit report.
Thanks,
Sincerely,

Yes skerpie you can dispute online as well. You will get the option of having the result via email or mailed to your postal address. Keep note of the confirmation number that they give you once you dispute online, they will ask for it if they send the result via email.

How are you supposed to remove the fraudulent information then? I have a fraudulent item on my credit report...I reported it to Experian where it was at but nothing was done to take it off my report...I have the creditors information to mail them a letter, but since I have no proof I am unsure of what I should say.
