If you have their contact information go ahead and send them a debt validation letter. You must know who you are in debt with. Smile

I believe this is an AT&T account (possibly an account from a company AT&T bought out). Either Palisades Collection has illegally re-aged the account, or it is a case of ID fraud.

How do you come to believe that its AT&T? Are they somehow related to Palisades? Do their collection go to Palisades?

Yes, many references on the debt forums between the two, plus the "ATT" in the account number.

Subject: Another Pallisades Fraud???

Posted on Mon Mar 24, 2008 2:44 pm

I also got 2 bad reports from Palisades on my Experian report and one on TransUnion. I don't know what this is!!! I don't owe anyone and they have key derogatory reports right up until this month for my AT&T bill and my bill is paid right up to date. They even have an entry for this month, 03/08.....I can't believe this. My credit score is WAY DOWN and this is the only derogatory report on there.
What can a girl do?? I see there is some debt validation letter, but what do I write in that letter?? Or is there a form for such a letter somewhere online??
HELP!!!!

DITTO! I have two collection reports from Palisades on my Experian report. I'm in the same boat. Can anyone provide advice on what to do? I tried calling but it's all automated. I also have false addresses that I never lived at.

Deborah-

Have you tried calling AT&T? Seems like it is a mistake on their part. I would first call them and see what they say, if your bill is up to date and in your name, i cant see how it would be valid. If you have somthing in collection for past dept in AT&T they would have turned off your phone a long time ago. If unsuccsesful try to contact CA. Lets face it a CA is not generaly friendly and probley just gunna try to fight you for the money is says you owe. Then I would send a letter. Just dont back down from them or give in if you are sure of what you have said.

Im not a pro at this like some of these guys, but their is alot of helpful info around, you would be surprised as to what you can learn by reading others post.

Please update, would like to here what/how it turns out.

First thing that you can do Deborah and kw898, is write a dispute letter to the CRAs. From your current report, make copies of them and circle all the mistakes. List the discrepancies in the letter and attach the copy of the report with it. If you have proof that the items are incorrect (in kw898's case you can attach the bills and payment receipts if you have it with you) attach the copies of the proof with the letter and send it to the bureaus. They must investigate into the matter within 30 days of receipt of your letter. Make sure you send certified copies with return receipt requested.

LAura gives good advise here and it sounds like the best starting point to get this matter cleared. Good luck.
