Is that really true?! Your credit score can DRP disputing items? What if the item, you're disputing, stays on your CR? Gosh....sounds crazy!! That's how 'we' try and 'fix' our credit,..by disouting items, etc.

To add good info on your credit report, why not start fresh? I would suggest to open new accounts and stay current on them and start rebuilding your credit that way. I am in the process of cleaning up my credit...I have a PFD agreement right now to remove the biggest debt (student loan) from my credit report. I took out a small personal loan and a low secured credit card and staying current and giving extra payments on them. It had been mentioned to me that in rebuilding your credit, it would be a good idea to take out a small personal loan and a secured credit card and pay it off every month...after a year or so, it will definitely leave your credit score in good standing....

Hi vilma,

You need to provide more information on this account of yours so that I and other members in the forum can help you in your problem. However, you can talk to your lender about this reporting.

Thanks,

Aaron

My credit was 742 2 weeks ago, I closed some accounts that were paid off, and had a collection account reported as paid, bc it said unpaid. Now my score is 658, how long will it take to bounce back up?

Hi Tabatha,

Your credit score lowered as you have closed down some of your accounts. As you have closed some of the accounts, your available credit has got lowered and your credit utilization in comparison has gone up. Thus, you are required to use your cards lightly and pay off the dues within the time limit. This will help you increase and maintain your score.

As for the time, I am afraid there is no specific time within which your score can increase. You need to have patience.

Thanks,

Aaron

The first poster is creorct, these are soft hits and will not affect your score at all.All insurance companies take credit history into account when they give people a quote for insurance now.
