Subject: Credit card lien on homestead for the six years now

Lien for credit card debt was placed on my girl friend's home which is homesteaded. This was filed in the courts six years ago. Recently she called to tell me a law firm notified her by mail seeking to settle for half the amount. She cannot pay this. She is not going to contact them. She was told after ten years the lien falls off. I read that a "state lien" could be renewed for 20 years two times. Is a credit card judgment, or lien considered a state lien? Will this ever go away if she can never pay this? She has nothing by her home. Appreciate your help as she has about given up ever getting out of debt. Her life changed for the worse, and doesn't seem to be getting any better.

I signed a lease for my son and now he has withheld payment to the leasing party because of non repaired water heater that has been out for 6 weeks and a problem for 6 months. Can they take my bank account and my car in a judgement?
