How do i request the negative item delete from my report

i have 2 negative item on my credit report and i call them if i pay for the balance will they remove the negative item from my report and can i have an agreement that from the collection agency. the answer is no the dont send agreement for deletion letter they will update with the burueas every monday . what should i do please advised.

Hi Danny,

Can you please be more clear on your query. Please let me know if you had requested the collection agency to agree to "Pay for delete" (PFD) agreement? If you had, then get the agreement in writing, or atleast some kind of proof that you may be able to show if any dispute arises later.

Hi Danny,

I think it is better to send two different letters to the collection agency. One for the settlement, and another for the "Pay for delete" (PFD) agreement.

2. on the pay for delete agreement should i put the amount i want to settle or the original balance?

As you are sending a settlement letter with all details on the debt, I don't think there's the need to include the original, and settlement amount in the PFD letter. You can use the sample PFD letter to write your own.

You can add the line

i owe $400 but i want to settle for $250

in the settlement letter.

one of my collection has been delete and not they change the collection company and put the negative on my credit report again and the day is start from July 2010 and i know this account is back to 2005 so any way i can dispute and have them remove as an inaccurate.?

Danny, If I am understanding your post correctly a negative was relisted. was it by a new collection company for the same previously deleted debt? If so they may be able to relest if they purchased the debt. Please explain more clearly so that we can help you.

yes i was relist with the new company for the same previously deleted debt. and now the post the deliquent date with the newest date (example.. previously june/2005 date open the account now they relist as a August/2010) can they do that?

Hi Danny,

No the delinquency date can't be changed. This is illegal reaging of debt. You should file complaint with Fair Credit Reporting Act, and the State Attorney General.

I think you have made a mistake. If the debt was reaged without your permission then you should fix that first. You should have filed the complaint first.

i find out they are not reaging my file on the remove date still the same as before i just the sold to different ca and when they report they have to put the new date on but the file still with the old a/c open date ..

But they keep reporting derogatory on my report it's already twice within 4 days with the same information.

Hi kakucis,

Whenever your account gets sold to a collection agnecy this will get listed on your credit report. The negative entered by the creditor, and the collection agencies previously in hold of the account will remain there for 7 years.

Hi Danny,

First of all not all collection agency agree to settle, and agree to "Pay for delete" (PFD) the negatives. Whether or not the CA will settle and PFD depends totally on the agency itself, and I should say on your luck too :)

I think you should atleast try.

This will depend on the credit card companies and collection agencies. There is no such fixed time within which they may respond to your PFD request. However, did your credit repair company send the PFD agreements through certified mail?

Hi Danny,

Yes there's a difference in sending letters through certified mail, requesting a return receipt (CMRRR) and not sending it through CMRRR. If you send a letter through certified mail you get to know if the letter reached it's destination, and the return receipt comes back signed. Thus, you get to know whether or not the person you have sent the letter to have received the letter.

You have the right to dispute inaccuracies off your credit report based upon The Fair Credit Billing Act. You can send a written letter to all 3 major credit bureaus to dispute inaccuracies off of your credit report.

From the date of the dispute, the creditor or collection agency has 30-60 days to respond back to each credit bureau showing the validity of the debt & why the consumer is responsible for it. If they can't, then under federal law, the collection item needs to be lifted off of the credit report.

Credit report disputes are usually made internet and via mail. To create a dispute online, you must have recently ordered a copy of your credit report from that credit bureau. When you dispute via mail, you are able to write a letter describing the error and submit proof of the mistake. The credit bureau investigates and removes the entry when they find that is definitely a mistake.

My mom was scammed by someone who claims to be a repair expert back in late 2015 or early 2016. I tried to tell her it was a scam but she had already given her information’s and money. I’ve tried to tell her that she could try to get her money back but I think she doesn't believe that I know what I'm talking about. It really upsets me when these scammers target our parents & grandparents! I just lost my dad when they did this to her. They called several months after she paid for the service. Thank God I answered the phone & not my mom! I told them hell no & if they owe us money to either mail a check or credit the card they charged in the 1st place. No exaggeration, they called 6 times in a row one day. I kept saying no, they would hang up or I would hang up & they would call right back. This went on for about a week & finally the calls stopped. She lost about $500.00. They charged her around $150.00-$200.00 for "fixing" her Credit & then told her a year membership for about $300.00 more dollars. I don’t know which bothers me more, that she was scammed or that she won't listen to me when I try to help her. So after much argument she finally listen to me I called a friend Tracy that contacted a hacker that worked on a criminal records on her Dad so she gave me he’s contact and I contacted him and explained the situation and how possible could it be.
