I have to say by getting behind in bills and getting frustrated made me come here and learn about bill collection. It was the nasty collectors that have motivated me to learn more about the laws surrounding collection. I had no idea that any of these existed. Sometimes good can come from bad, I have learned so much on this site and on the debt site. It took me being backed into a corner to go online and search around for answers and I have never looked back.

Same here. Now that I am doing well I am trying to post as much information, sample letters and resources as I can on my site to help others but, It is hard to get the word out to people since I can't afford the 250k advertising budgets that these consolidation companys pay. It is a shame all I want to do is GIVE people the tools they need to fix help themselves but I cant get by the loan sharks to do it!

You are doing a great job here and with your website. I value your input here at many times when I am trying to get this credit world figured out.

Same thought here...........all I know, FOR SURE, is that I am in debt.LOL I sure, the HECK, din't know where to go ( just for simple answers) for free, informative advice. All of those so-called companies wanted money just to tell you the 'simple' things about credit.

I find these forums open up a whole new network of learning for me, I do enjoy the discussions we have here on credit issues and it is very interesting to me to see how different people view things, sometimes through discussion another angle that we have not thought about will pop up, and I think that these are valid and important points that are addressed here and in turn becomes the very advice that could help one get the upper hand on the collector. Sometimes when we are in debt, we feel overwhelmed and can not see the light of day, through relationships and advice given here there is a light at the end of the tunnel and a great support netowork is built to help us through the rough times, but I think the most important part is that you are here from beginning to end of a problem and we all get to share the outcome, good or bad. We all learn from each other.

all that and a bag of chips erb, great way to put it. A great support network is built here.

It's been around for a long time, I first heard it from a teenie bopper.

Sun, 08/10/2008 - 05:11 Permalink

Leave it to the teenie booper. Seams like they have an answer for EVERYTHING.

Mon, 08/11/2008 - 01:25 Permalink

I once knew a repair shop that had the sign that said the exact same thing.

It said, " hire a teenager while they still know everything" LOL, I used to think, how true that saying really is. LOL>

I just went through those rough stages shortly ago. My teen age sons would drive me up the wall thinking he was always right. It didn't matter if you threw a ton of evidence in front of him showing him the logic..he was still right. I now am approaching the tweenager stage with my daughter. Its really starting off nicely I hope it continues that way. My son is slowly coming back down to planet earth. Hope he makes a safe landing.
I had this little poster I use to hang on my frig for my know it all son (he has since ripped it up) it read:
Becareful what you think, your thoughts become your words, your words become your actions, your actions become your habits, your habits become your character, YOUR CHARACTER IS EVERYTHING!
He recently said that he remembers that poster the most because it really was true. Guess it wasn't an effort made in vain.

They will almost always come back to earth, they know where the love is, no matter how stubborn they see. I would not be an 19 year old again if you paid me to. It is tough holding up all that image and trying to figure out adulthood, we were not perfect when we were younger, I am sure that we can lay claim to a few of our parents gray hairs. LoL, I know that my days a head are going to be trying with my little one. Just when I think I have it down pat, she will correct me. She informed me this week that it is a hot dog roast, not a weinie roast, because boys have wienies. It has always been a weinie roast to me and where is my 4 year old coming up with this stuff. I can not imagine the conversations that are going on at the playground when parents sit back to read or take a breath. These little ones are like 8 and 10 year olds at 4 and 5.

Thats hysterical. I tell ya they pick uo stuff from everywhere these days and if you think that is bad wait until they enter school. You could have the most perfect little angel and then poof they are gone. It only takes one bad kid. On a different note and something that probaly doesn't belong here. I recently cashed out an now I notice that my posts are payiong as much as before. Sometimes they are only like 7 cents. I have never seen that here. New rules?

Tue, 08/12/2008 - 16:54 Permalink

I just commented on this, that really stinks, mine are cut in half now.

Anyway about the kids, you will have a completely different kid once the outside influences start kicking in.

Hold on goodnatured, it only gets better with time, LOL

I checked the pub and didn't see anything. It really does suck but oh well. I told my sister this would happen once her kids started school. She was like "he would know better I'd kick his butt". Needless to say she has been doing a lot of kicking and he has a pretty siore butt. End results are the same.

I think that we all forget we were all kids at one time too. Fireyone does he work, what does he do for income. Are you discussing credit, work, jobs, being independent, etc with him? Even though it seems as if he is not listening he hears everything you say.

Will he listen to you about employment and credit and how it will all affect his future? Give it a shot anyway.

I have tried and tried GN.. He has been out of school for almost a year now and has not even tried to get a job. Everytime I bring it up he has a pocketful of excuses. First it was no Birth certificate, I got it, then no ss card,I got it, then no photo id,I got it,no transportation, he lived in town and was offered to carpool. It is an endless excuse cycle.

Thu, 08/14/2008 - 13:31 Permalink

Well who is supporting him, somebody has got to be feeding the boy, who is enabling him to live this loser lifestyle?

Fri, 08/15/2008 - 09:55 Permalink

The same person I always had trouble with...his grandmother. If she would have stepped aside from the time he started acting up instead of sheltering him it probaly wouldn't have gotten this bad. So he goes there for showers, food, money and a place to crash periodically. Most of the other times he goes from one losers house to the next. You wouldn't believe how many young, able bodied kids that aren't working today.

Fri, 08/15/2008 - 11:30 Permalink

I know, I see the results of it everyday, they think the world is a free ride that everyone else should pay for, bad attitudes, there are many of them that I would not send to an employer.

Fri, 08/15/2008 - 23:57 Permalink

I just can't believe how bad these teenagers outlooks are. Soemday they will have to come back to reality. That is why I think putting a credit card in to the hands of our young americans is the very worst thing anyone can do. I can see it now. Pay the bill ot money to party. Bet you know what most would choose.

Should be some good help seeing that they work in the industry, I am curious to see and hopeful to see someone helping out from the industry just for the sake of helping out and not trying to pull us into a website to make money off of us.

Mon, 08/25/2008 - 12:07 Permalink

Words right out of my mouth. That was my very FIRST thought.

Mon, 08/25/2008 - 12:22 Permalink

Hi
There are many resources at net. You can get credit reports of free of cost.various services providers which help you to find best free credit reports

Wed, 08/27/2008 - 08:36 Permalink

What do you mean at net? Isn't there a direct website?

Wed, 08/27/2008 - 11:52 Permalink

GN there are so many different web addresses these days .net .org .com. Must be like the phone numbers..you get so many you got to start creating others. I myself am thankful for the internet. It has helped me with credit matters, vehicle repairs and soo many things. Makes you wonder what you ever did without it.

I think that many people feels that way once they learn how to navigate it. I agree there is a wealth of information on the net, and the sooner people learn how to use computers these days the better for them.

You can get your 3 in 1 credit report from annualcreditreport.com totally free of cost once a years. This site has been set up by the three credit reporting agencies for providing free credit report as per the US federal law. There are also several other companies that offer free credit report round the year if you sign up with them for certain credit related services. Myfico.com also offers a 30 day free trial period for credit report from Equifax.

Wed, 09/03/2008 - 04:54 Permalink

OK I went to free credit report and I had to ask for each report individually. Is this the same thing? I like to spread my checks out over the year period so I can keep monitoring it. I thought when it said three-in-one that they gave you all three together at another site.

Fri, 09/05/2008 - 00:33 Permalink

I am not sure about this, I have always used annualcreditreport(dot)com

Fri, 09/05/2008 - 03:03 Permalink

Just curious maybe there was another one out there.

Sat, 09/06/2008 - 02:55 Permalink

Innovis...just read it on another site. Never heard of it but asked a few questions hopefully someone will answer.

Sun, 09/07/2008 - 00:40 Permalink

I have no clue. If my net wasn' so slow I would google. Oh well why depress myself with another look at my credit record.

Sun, 09/07/2008 - 00:45 Permalink

I just went to the innovis website and there is a $10.50 charge for a lot of states and pennsylvania is one of them. You have to request your by phone or by mail. They also offer services to business as well, so I am not sure that I am into another company that is going to serve both the consumer and business's.

Like I said before I am not going to be borrowing for a long while anyway, so I just want to work on building my score up to a descent score.

Sun, 09/07/2008 - 02:30 Permalink

Me either. Not only that if you can get a free report and you aren't planning on getting any loans why bother. Not only that if your credit is good and your planning on going for a loan then just ask the bank when they run your report. Thats how we got my hubbys.

Sun, 09/07/2008 - 13:48 Permalink

Will they just do it at your request? I did not know that they would do that? Will they charge you?
