Need some advice

An employee of a school wrongfully recorded my account which turned my account to be unpaid. I was not informed until the school turned it to a collection agency. I disputed the situation with the school and they had not replied to my last letter since my letter contains all the situations that it was the employee's fault. Anyway, my question is, can I forward my letter (which I used to dispute) to the credit bureaus to remove the record in my credit history. Or do I need to let the school or the collection agency do it?

Dispute the item on your credit report. Send valid proof if you have any. The bureau will perform investigation and if proved that the account is not yours it will be removed from your report which will again take some time.

yep..I agree with Laura!! Send the proof, of the account being PIF AND dispute it. Good chance you can get it removed from your credit. I say that cuz, that happened to me. I paid an account, in full, however, it STILL stated, on my CR, it was not paid..'open-ended'. I sent in proof, stating PIF. The Credit Bureau 'deleted' the account right away.

...OH MY!! I forgot to add, the reason the Credit Bureau took the account off rught away, because they said it was "misleading information given to them". You see, the account was PIF, BEFORE the account was 'added' to my CR. Make sense?
