follow-up with CA after payment

They received my payment on the 17th. Nothing has been deleted off my credit report, nor have I received confirmation from them that they received the payment.
What should be in that letter now? I don't know if they are required by the FCRA to send me a confirmation...if so, that could go in there. Anything else?

Hi Sven

When your creditor agreed for the PFD, I hope you got it in writing. As far as I remember the letter you had shown, it was there I believe. I can't remember clearly though. However, you could give them a 30 days time to get the record removed.

Yeah.. the PDF said 10 days... their letter said it might take the credit bureau up to 90 days to update their records. Are they not required to send me a letter stating that they received the payment? Thsi is so frustrating. I thought it would be over 1-2 weeks after I send them the payment...

I am afraid you will have to hold your patience and I am hoping that you had sent them a request for receipt upon payment. How did you make the payment? By check I suppose. You can hold that as evidence that you paid them. You can only wait for the records to be updated. If they claim payment again you can dispute the debt and get it off your report.

No, I did not request a receipt. I thought it would be a standard procedure to receive a receipt. I sent them a USPS check. I already requested a photo copy of the cashed check. They will send it to me.
I will send them a letter on monday again. Looks like there's nothing I can use against them at this point ( like a FCRA requirement to send me a receipt etc. )? Guess that I will just ask them now.

Btw, would it be a good idea to dispute the account? Experian has an online dispute. You can even send a message to the CA through it. I could say that a lawsuit is following if they do not remove it. I got it all in writing etc. Might be a bad idea, though. But the PDF included " CA will not acknowledge that any settlement offer was made, accepted or executed and will, in fact, deny knowledge of any such account."

So, they credit bureau should not be able to verify it and delete it. No sure if such action could backfire, though....

I have had better luck calling up the credit reporting company and getting a person to talk to you. I had an item removed by calling and speaking to someone.

If you are a little leary on talking to them on the phone you can use the online form that Sven has mentioned above.

goodluck, hope you get this all straightened out.

It will only be removed cause the CA agreed to it. I don't really want to let the credit bureau know why it's gonna be deleted :)

Hi Sven

I don't think so.

You have asked for a PFD and the CA has agreed to it. Let them update the report. Maybe you could call them and talk to someone reliable to get it done a.s.a.p
