Summons can be listed forever

I have been posting about Cach llc serving me a summons in 2006 and not having any action on the issue since that time frame, well my question was how long can it stay in my court house with out any activity? I talked to an attorney this week and apparently the answer is forever, so I guess I will just leave it alone.

I just thought that it is odd that criminal cases have set time limits and a civil matter can just lay there forever. My problem with this is that once they serve a summons it freezes the statute of limitations, so can a debt collector use this to freeze statutes of limitations when they have no intention of following through? This should not be allowed? Any thoughts?

How long had Cach LLC been contacting you about your debt? Right now I am getting getting letters about Cach LLC about one of my debts and they offered me a payment plan a couple months ago but did not participate in it...I do plan to pay off the debt but I am planning on sending PFD letters first...
