New card

Hi, new here :)

I had a card from 9 years ago that defaulted, and was never paid. It is now not there on my credit report and the SOL on this debt has expired too. I have been working to rebuild my credit. Currently I have no revolving credit and the only thing on my report is a 9yr old car loan PIF with no lates, and a current car loan with no lates.

I am currently at 723 with Experian, 734 with Transunion, and 660 with Equifax (erroneous $150 collection that I am disputing).

I would like to get a card again with the same bank (account which i had defaulted on 9 years ago). I heard they pull Exp which is my best score. But since I have past unpaid debt with them, will I even qualify for this time?

Hi Alun,

Whether or not the bank will give you new credit will depend upon the bank itself. Some banks may allow, while some may not. For example, according to most Amex generally does not allow. They blacklist you for lifetime. I won't know what your bank treats the customers like. Still you can try.

Thanks,

Aaron

I am really surprised to know that you are willing to stick to the old bank whereas there are plenty of good offers regarding cards are available in the market. So i will advice you to search for a good offer in market and just get it,why unnecessarily get caught up in the process let us try some other bank.
