Getting negative balance on account

Hello,

I've been trying for the past 3 months to have a negative balance on my credit card account. However, right now, my statement shows that the credit card company with whom I have a credit card with owes me ($5) dollars.

I got it to be this way since they allow you to pay 7% extra on top of your amount due. How does that affect the credit score or credit utilization? Currently I am using less than 0% of my credit. So will they report it as 0?

Thank you for your help.

Hi Ruben,

I think you will have to pay off the little balance in order to get the account status negative. However, if you are using 0% of your credit it will report as zero.

A negative balance does not affect your credit utilization any differently from a negative balance. As far as I know the negative balance gets reported as zero balance. This may vary according to the banks.

Thanks,

Aaron
