Can a bank continue to report late fees to the Bureau

About 9 months ago I voluntarily gave back a vehicle I could no longer afford payments on. I tried to get lower payments, but all they offered was extensions.

Unfortunately I gave the car back and their still reporting that I am late on my credit report. Can they do this?

Hi chaltinehunt,

Welcome to this community :)

DO you have proof of the voluntary repossession? When you give away your vehicle on your own the account status should get reported as voluntary repossession on your credit report. So, I think you should talk to the company.

Thanks,

Aaron

if you paid late, they will report late. but this is weird. So, when a car is repossessed they are supposed to sell it and credit you the difference. Have they done that?
