I received a letter today 2/05/11 from a rental place that I rented an RV from 10/10/2009. Contract rental was from 10/10/2009 to 10/17/2009. Rental was picked up 10/13/2009 due to leaking of gasoline. RV was picked up on 10/10/2009 was driven on interstate and paved highways was parked at location on 10/10/2009 and was not moved. I noticed gasoline smell but didn't think anything of it because campsite had been recently mowed and weedeated around. Contacted RV rental place on 10/12 or 10/13 to report gas leakage. On 10/13 RV was picked up. When I contacted RV rental center for reimbursement for days I did not use RV they told me was under investigation because gas tanks were damaged and I would probably be paying them for the damages. I did not damage those gas tanks! I asked for proof to be sent to me so that I could get it to my attorney. The lady then told me she could no longer speak to me if I was going to be speaking to an attorney. I have not heard back from them in 14 mths and now they are demanding 2,815.92 Where do I go from here?

Ask them to validate the debt. Send them a debt validation letter via certified mail (cmrrr).
