can a judgement be bought and sold?

Hello, I was recently contacted by a collection agency about a judgement that was put against me almost 4 years ago.
It is not the same CA that filed the judgement.
They sent me a letter wanting the full amount. The amount is different then what it states on my credit report.
Their letter did say if I want to validate this I have 30 days to do so, which I did.
I sent the request certified with return receipt, but it has been way past the 30 days for them to validate.
Any suggestions on what I should do next?

Thanks

Well, you've given me an opportunity to explain a bit over here. The CA had 30 days to respond to this validation letter. If they fail to respond, they must cease collection efforts and the negative listings must be removed by them from your CR. You must send them a certified letter asking them to remove such listings now that they've failed to validate your debt. If the listings don't get removed, it leads to a violation of the FDCPA, and then you may always sue them at a small claims court.

This is ok to do even if it's a new CA who bought the judgement?
I ahven't heard anything from them since I sent the certified letter.
