My name is Paul and I have about $60,000 credit card debt. .
The reason I have so much debt was because I was running a business and the business wend down so bad, now my business is closed down.
So I am filing bankruptcy. I do not have a problem yet.

The question starts from now on.
I have one joint credit card with my wife and that card has about 13,000 + late fee + penalty (4000) =$17,000

Of course my wife did not use it. I used it. She was also authorized user at this point. This is a credit card from wells fargo bank.

But I found out I messed up my wife's credit. We found out. we did not pay for about 17months.

In this case, would you please give me the best advice?

Since I am filing bankruptcy, my wife's credit has to alive.

It looks like one of your similar articles said, it is better to settle. because it has been late for too long.
My would like to build up my credit again. And also my wife is paying for her car on time every month and she still needs to pay for about 40months.

Please give me any advice so that I can follow your steps.

Thanks for reading and I really appreciate it.

If you're gonna file for bankruptcy and your wife doesn't, then for obvious reasons, your credit card co. will go after your wife. She'll be liable to pay off the entire credit card debt now.
