I live in Ca., was handed a summons this morning. What surprised me was I didn't need to sign anything.
This is February 28, it is dated February 17. Have 30 days to reply.
(Probably dates don't make a difference?)
Long story short....I owe the credit card company.
I don't have any assets, I don't own a home or property.
Am in HUGE debt. Helping my mom with her bills, and possible foreclosure. Needless to say, can't afford an attorney.
I work as a commissioned sales person, some weeks I don't make any money.
What can I do?

Be there at the court, on the date and time mentioned. Don't give it a miss, or else the other party might win a judgment against you. If you can persuade your creditor and set up a self-repayment plan it's good. You'll find it difficult to get enrolled with professional debt relief services. Alternatively you may file for bankruptcy.
