I had this credit card in a debt consolidation over 10 years ago. It was the only thing not resolved. After my divorce a few years ago, I found myself in a situation to do a debt consolidation again. I tried to include this card, however, the debt company could not find it. I even called the credit card company and they had no record of it. They are the ones who suggested that it was written off. It does not even show on my current credit report. However, this week some other debt collector contacted me looking for money.
If it's gone past SOL, then there's no point in making a payment. It will get your SOL clock restarted. In reality, these debt collectors buy junk debts and try out different means to collect it from the debtors.
