Two of the same collections on CR

I love this site and I am going through it and repairing my own credit myself.

But, I have ran into a ditch on something while reviewing my CR.

I had a GE Money bank credit card through Wal-Mart in the amount of $395, which I never paid and is showing up as 'Transferred/charged-off'. It was sent to a CA Portfolio Recovery where I paid the full amount of $395 to the CA.

So, on my credit report it still shows GE/Wal-Mart as a 'Transferred/charged-off' with a zero balance and Portfolio Recovery is on there with the same account number as GE showing a 'Paid Collection' Can I remove GE/Wal-Mart from the report since they are both the same accounts????

Welcome to the forums!!!
Nope, you can’t remove them. Negative items will remain on your credit report for 7 years from the date of your first default. But you need not to worry, because your account status has updated properly.

You can not remove it but don't let this discourage you, continue to work to keep your accounts in good standing, it will pay off in the end. Many of us, including myself had a low score and credit issues that led us here. Work through the process and continue with your goals, you will be happy when your score comes up and these items dissappear from you report or are pushed down by good reports.
