A man walks into a store to buy a Barbie doll for his daughter. “How much is that Barbie in the window?”, he asks the shop assistant.

In a manner she responds, “Which Barbie? We have Barbie Goes to the Gym for $19.95, Barbie Goes to the Ball for $19.95, Barbie Goes Shopping for $19.95, Barbie Goes to the Beach for $19.95, Barbie Goes Nightclubbing for $19.95, and Divorced Barbie for $395.00.”

The guy asks, “Why is Divorced Barbie different from all the others?”

“That’s obvious,” the assistant states, “Divorced Barbie comes with Ken’s house, Ken’s car, Ken’s boat, Ken’s furniture

Well Barbie has got to be one of the most attractive girls that I have ever known, she never ages, she stays in perfect health and she has everything that a girl could possibly want. I seen on Maury today, women that were having plastic surgery to look like her. I say, Wake Up America, it is a doll, no real person really looks that way. I guess I favor more the cabbage patch doll, LOL. I refused to let some little hard plastic doll dictate what women should look like today and I think these women on these shows are so shallow minded, can you imagine, grown women with this frame of mind. Ding bats! They had a few younger girls on there too that were having plastic surgery done and their mothers actually consented to it. Have to wonder what message this sends to these young ladies and the young ladies that watch this episode when it airs again and again. I would hope that these mothers would wake up and realize that it is not healthy physically or mentally to have these types of surgeries unless it is medically necessary. I could not believe my ears when I seen these mothers on there consenting to this, they showed the before and afters of each girl. I don’t think a young girl should have breast augmentation or liposuction, their bodies are not done growing yet. You have to wonder how much more of this we will see.

There reasoning was that their daughters were being picked on in school, okay, well how about some bully training for the entire school instead of plastic surgery.

Kudos Good. I have never seen such a mind refreshing opinion before. Bully training of course. I am too tired of people running after plastic beauty rather than the natural one. Unbelievable.

I think a lot of people try to get the Barbie look, they see Barbie as perfection, the way a woman should look. Some take it to extremes with plastic surgery, I myself would never have surgery to change the way I look, I hate to get put under for a necessary procedure, let alone do it for a voluntary procedure, no way. I am happy with who I am, who I was and who I plan to be “ME”.

I would never encourage my daughter to do this or even agree to her doing it..

BRAVO,

I love this attitude. People have to be more rational in their thinking. It i very important to have an individuality. I am glad i have made such good friends here.

I can not imagine any parent letting their daughter have surgery to look better, omg, this is appaulling. I don't like it when my kids go to the dentist and get novacaine let alone be put under for a procedure that is elective. Teenagers are still children that are not fully grown, why would you interupt that process, you see the ugly duckling stories all the time. We all have lost our front teeth and have the school pictures to prove it, we all go through awkward stages in life, it is how we grow and develop and earn our personalities.

This is infuriating that a parent would let a child chop up there bodies like this, I suppose these same parents let their teens go out and get piercings and tatoos at a young age and when they get older they regret it. Especially those tatoos on their necks that they can not cover up. It is not nice to look at.

Why would you let a teenager make a life changing decision at a point in their life when they are in such mental turmoil, teenage hormones are going crazy and they are just developing themselves mentally and physically. What message does this send. It sure does not say, "I love you, just the way you are" what we are supposed to be saying to our kids.

I perfectly agree to your opinion August. The feeling is so degrading. I am so thankful that my sister who has just entered teen age is a little more practical and rational. She is not behind plastic beauty.
