I made a settlement with Financial Asset Managment on 3/22/07 claimed I had to use a credit card for $1040.00 payment then said I could not set a check unless it was overnight. If I wanted I could send the next $1040.00 by April 28/07. Now I got a bill that doesnt reflect $1040.00 payment on my brother's credit card, and is still asking for $2080.00 the full payment amount and says it has to be paid by 5/21/07. Should I said the credit card statement with the check or what?

Tell us you had DV Asset prior to settlement/payment,
and you did get The Settlement in WRITING.
There is NEVER such a "RUSH deadline" for settling
an alleged debt. I find that ALL alleged debts must be
DV. And Cash is good ANYTIME and would not expire
on MARCH 22, 2007 !!!

Now I got a bill that doesnt reflect $1040.00
payment on my brother's credit card, and is still
asking for $2080.00 the full payment amount
and says it has to be paid by 5/21/07.

Most CAs, if not all, are completely dishonest.
You actually paid the first of two installments
with your brother's credit card by email, snail mail,
or via telephone!!! A very bad idea. These dishonest
people have your brother's information. Now Asset is
claiming they NEVER received the first $1040.00
installment payment that had been deducted from
your brother's credit card!!! Now the new expiration
date is MAY 2007.

Should I send the credit card statement with
the check or what?

Before paying them another dime, I would telephone
Asset and find out where is your first $1040.00
payment. If their answer is any way deceptive,
have your brother file a Dispute with his
credit card company immediately.

Did you put ANYTHING in writing?
What did you settle on? Just the $2080.00 money
issue? Did you negotiate your Credit Report? Know
and understand that just paying what a CA says
you owe on a Collection Account will not erase
the Original Creditor Trade Line OR the Collection
Account from your Credit Reports.

You should have negotiated how Financial Asset
will report the alleged collection account to the CBs,
or delete their Account completely, upon receipt of
your second (last) Installment.

FYI: A Collection Agency cannot delete an OC TL.
After paying the CA, the OC Trade Line will remain
on your CR, until the 7-year Reporting Time Period
expires.
