year ago I applied for an Amex card. They accidentally sent me two (I applied electronically and then called to ask a question on how to calc income and so operator applied for me too rather than correct the old account). I never activated one. But now credit report says I have two open Amex cards (one with no history). What do I do? Tell Amex this is your fault don't close it, completely remove any record it ever existed. Or go to credit agencies and say the account was never opened.
This is definitely a issue you need to deal with the actual credit card company. Do they both have the same account number. If not why not use the other card to your advantage to help build your credit ,Since they are reporting on it. I would activate it and keep a very minimal balance that i could pay off each month. JUST A SUGGESTION!!!
