hello everyone, i am so glad i've come across this site and am hoping to be able to gather some advice as to what i can do to improve my credit. my lease is up in sept. and i really want to be able to get a nice place by that time but my credit score (and history) is one thing that i suspect will get in the way of making this come true. i was going through a really rough time 2 years ago and made horrible decisions with regards to the way i dealt with my finances. now i'm trying to pick things up and make it better but i seem to be stuck. i have $500 in debt with a closed store card but the rest of my debt has been paid off in full. my other credit card was also closed by the company who had issued it. with my 600 score i am unable to get credit anywhere so i feel like i have no way to build my credit... can anyone give me advice?

22year old w/ very low score (600!!) needs help
You should immediately repay your closed store card debts. Pay-off your all dues on time. Add positive information on your credit report. It will help you to build your credit and improve your credit score gradually with time.
sallynachelle, once the $500 has been paid off what would your suggestion be? i really want to qualify for an auto loan by the end of this year but do not know what to do... any advice is appreciated.
