If you were denied credit- you can ask the company to send you a copy of the report that they used in which they made their determination. Many times there are several inquires on your credit that you did not ask for which lowers your score. All those offers for credit cards- means that the companies have most likely reviewed your credit. Once you obtain your report- you can write Trans-union, Equifax and Experian ( must write all three) and ask that the inquires be removed from your credit report. SOmetimes you have to write a few times- but it is worth it! Depending on the number of inquires on your report- your score can increase 50-175 points by removing them!
