Debt removed through arbitration process coming back

Hi all,

I have tackled several accounts big and small, but for this one. Credit card that went delinquent in early 2004, charged off and assigned to a CA in 2004. Went through the "arbitration" process and was found in my favor surprisingly.

But this account was then again sent to another CA who stopped collecting once they found about the arbitration results. After that this acct. got deleted from all CRAs. However, last month while checking my credit report I found that this was back on my CR without any other notice. I finally got a "bill" from the CA for half of the written off final balance. Since then, they have made updates to this account 3 times, each time fico score has taken a hit.

I no longer have the arbitration paperwork to prove the past decision.

How do I start to tackle this?

Hi Laidly,

Even though you do not have any papers pertaining to the judgment you might be aware about the court where the case was filed. You can pay the necessary fees and can get a new documents from their registry.

Thanks

Hi Laidly,

I think you should first send a debt validation letter to the collection agency through certified mail, requesting a return receipt. In addition try to get hold of the arbitration paperwork. You can do as ensurepune suggested.

Thanks,

Aaron
