If it is collection agency and if they have threatened you or used abusive languages they have violated Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA).
These same ppl called a friend of ours. I dont know how they got their number, but they called for my bro. Was releasing my bros info and saying my bro is about to go to jail bc they are gonna report it to the sherriffs dept.
This is violation of FDCPA too. Thus, you can file complaints with the Federal Trade Commission and your State's Attorney General.
