Subject: Need help on how to respond to foreclosure summons

My wife and I have fallen behind on our house payments. We just got a summons for foreclosure. We are to respond to that letter within 20 days. I am not sure how to do that. we are behind 4000 dollars and i have that money to pay now. I am currently speaking with the mortgage lender to find out what needs to be done. do i simply explain that in my letter?
On a side note, does anyone have any idea how much in legal costs and fees extra it will be besides the outstanding payments? i am worried about that.
My morgage company is Bank of America and they are looking into the recovery program or whatever to try and reduce some things to help out, but by paying this money back is that going to hurt my chances of reducing my % and monthly payment which obviously has been a problem so far?
thanx for the advise |

| bank of america has a program set up specifically for your situation. i'd call them. that's who i go through. they can set you up on a payment plan based on your income & expenses. its only for a few years, but it allows for you to get your finances under control for the time being. |

Hi godd2
I found a sample response for you. Take a look at it and reword it as per your requirement and you may send this as a reply.

Well, that depends on BAC really. I believe you would have a good reason to try and convince then to reduce your interest. Lenders usually, don't agree to such proposals at the very first attempt, so, you may have to work harder. However, there is absolutely no guarantee that BAC would actually agree to lower your interest. You could still try. _________________ Keep in touch

Instead of replying yourself I would suggest you to take advice from a professional lawyer. _________________ debt solutions California |
