Which one to keep

Hi,

I'm no longer wanting to keep more than one card. Right now I have two cards and am trying to decide which one to keep.

One card pay me on eating out better, but we've went to a cash only budget for eating out and safety reasons. Another one is purely cash back. I currently have all my bills going to it and any grocery/gas purchases. With my bills etc I have no issue reaching the 6,500 required to get the better cash back.

So the obvious chose would be to get rid of the first one. Is this right? Or should I cancel both and get a Chase Freedom Signature Visa?

Hi Lotty,

You will know better which is more useful for you. So, it is better you decide which one you want to keep, and which one you want to cancel. However, one thing that you should know is if you close an account your credit can be hurt, because your credit utilization ratio will increase as compared to your available credit. Moreover, sometime after closing the card, all the good history will be lost.

Still if you want to cancel one it is better to keep the card with bigger credit line.

Thanks,

Aaron
