Disputed medical accounts coming back

Last week I was going to get pre approval letter for a home loan when some accounts which I had previously disputed came back on my Credit Report under a new name. Last year there was about seven unknown medical accounts listed on my Credit report by a company in excess of over 5K. I did not know anything about the accounts and disputed the accounts with the Credit Bureaus, and the items were deleted. I filed a police report of this incident and was informed the accounts that were on my credit report they had no record of in there system. They have my social security number. I don't know how.

My credit score is still over 600 but i don't know if it will affect my score in the coming months. I just sent a dispute letter to Experian today and hopefully it works. Can someone please advise me of what to do, so i can have these items removed from my credit ASAP.

Hi Donald,

What you need to do is complain this to the Federal Trading Commission. Also put a fraud alert on this. Dispute these items again. Also here is a number for disputing - 800-509-8495.

While sending the dispute letters mention that you had disputed these items before too. Attach copies of the previous dispute letters as proof. It would have been even better if you had copies of credit report before and after the dispute.

Thanks,

Aaron

Hi,

You can try sending debt validation letters to the companies reporting these medical accounts. Send the letters through certified mail, requesting a return receipt.

You can also try the 623 dispute method to remove these items off your report.

Thanks.
