Establishing credit... Or "RE"-establishing it...

"How can I establish credit?"

This is the question I get asked as much as any other, and the answer is very simple... "SLOWLY, AND CAREFULLY."

Now if that isn't quite as specific an answer as you were hoping for, I offer this... You need to start with revolving credit. Simply put, you need to get a credit card, and manage it responsibly.

**pay on time
**keep the balance as low as possible
**pay it off as early as is possible (don't wait for the bill-pay it online!)
**don't buy on credit, what you can't pay cash for, within 30 days

My husband hurt himself in Jan and just went back to work but he works in the manufacturing automotive industry and they are not doing very well very worried about his job. My credit card debt is about 14,000 and two car loans amounting to 10,000 .. We are in the process of our home loan modification and hoping that works out.

But when you do not make monthly payments, your debt gets accumulated to a huge amount and it becomes difficult for you to repay the dues. So, if you think you'll be neck deep in debt just because you may not be able to keep up with the payments, explore various ways to pay off the money you owe. With proper planning, discipline and dedication, you can free yourself from your dues.

Did you plan for anything after retirement?

Submitted by BLANCA on Thu, 07/17/2008 - 10:04

Hello Everyone! I am a retired man and not even a pension holder and because of this reason I have already made a plan for my future during my job time. I have invested my earnings at that stage in many investing companies with many investors. But after retirement I felt that I should invest my rest of the money which I got after my retirement in some new investing firms which are basically dealing with some real estate properties. Does anyone know about such investors which will help me out?

Wells Fargo Direct Deposit Advance

Has anyone had experience with Wells Fargo Bank and the deal they offer customers who have direct deposit on their account? You can "take an advance on your own paycheck". Of course, there is a fee to do this and its like $2.00 for every $20.00 borrowed. The whole thing plus the fee comes out with your next direct deposit.

To me this is exactly like a PDL, the same kind of trap once you do it, it becomes necessary to keep doing it. The only thing you can't advance more than half of your direct deposit.
