I was foolish enough to listen to someone who advised me to stop paying my accounts and wait for a settlement offer. Well my credit got really messed up because of this (no big surprise!). My credit cards were charged off and sold to collection agencies. I was trying to rent an apartment and these credit card accounts put a big red flag on me (again, no big surprise). Any suggestions on how to go about for pay-for-delete settlements?

Paying off charged off credit cards
Try to contact with your creditors and set up a payment arrangement with them. Start making payments otherwise they may sue you. Explain them about your financial condition. I hope they will consider your situation.
