Subject: Credit card debt looking for loan

Posted on Thu Dec 11, 2008 1:09 pm

I can not believe how many scams are out there since I have been looking to get a loan to pay off our credit card debt . My husband hurt himself in Jan and just went back to work but he works in the manufacturing automotive industry and they are not doing very well very worried about his job. My credit card debt is about 14,000 and two car loans amounting to 10,000 .. We are in the process of our home loan modification and hoping that works out. I did however started calling on my own the credit card company's for example Lowes project card hate that one very high interest 16.79%because we thought we could pay it off in 6 months ha that was a joke on us.. Love that thought .. That is how we got so burried I guess.. Then my husband went on disability so we were living on credit cards to get through the 9 1/2 months... Anyways I have come to the realization that there is no bank right now that is willing to take on 14,000 of credit card debt in one loan especially to someone that in 2 years out of BK7 .... So we fell again and now I am doing my own research thats how I found this forum and like I said finding out a lot of the loan scams which is really great because I cannot afford to get into a scam to pay off stressful debt right now. It is pretty sad that these are actual people that are taking advantage of each other like this . I seen a site which had a company that I call _ _ _ ( Dont want to getin trouble lol) anyways the customer service reps /loan advisors were stating that they had to push consumers into advances on credit cards and loans that they could not afford.. Two employees came forward and this is one one the largest banks america deals with .. This is getting serious I am afraid to even talk to debt consolidation people. When I talked to lowe's the person I spoke to told me that they would cut my monthly payment in half and half my interest rate for 6 months that was the best they could do.. Well I told him about the credit consolidation I was looking into and he said I just did it myself and did not get charged high fees from those company's because that is all they do anyway. THEY CALL IN MAKE A DEAL TO CUT PAYMENTS AND CHARGE YOU TO DO SO.. So at this point it is so hard to believe representatives , loan officers, banks , I don't know anything else to do but deal with the companies I have the current loan with and make arangements and hope for the best. I am new here and so happy to find a forum to go to with others in the same deal..
Please if there is a loan that really can help enlighten me because I am at my wits end of trying to find something that just does not exist.. From what I have been reading we as a country ae in big trouble I went to youtube and was watching videos and wondering is this true ?? What is true and false do we really know anymore??? Do you think that americas got so spoiled that now we are paying hard for our greediness the goverment is what I am referring to they push and push ad tell us to spend to help the economy but who is helping us NOW ...Sorry I just got up after being on the internet last nigt looking for something that is just as I know it does not exsist A LOAN TO CONSOLIDATE BILLS FOR NOT SO GREAT CREDIT PEOPLE LIKE ME !!! Well anyways good to meet everyone thanks for the venting and if anywone has any solutions please I am listening because right now I am not feeling positive sorry Sad

It is very hard once you get behind or get a lot of credit card debt. There is not always a simple solution out there especially if your credit is bad. Seems like you had a pretty bad misfortune and had to accumulate even more debt. Do not feel bad you are not alone. I wonder if maybe you call your other credit card companies if they will give you a deal like Lowes did. It would give you a chance to get back on your feet and at least give you a little releif from all the high monthly bills. Now this will only put it off for so long. I do not know a lot of places that will consolidate that will not end up giving you a higher interest rate. Stick around here at the forum because you have come to the right place. Some others may know of some decent placs to get loans combined.

Funny how things work today
I had a company called credit exchange contact me tonight his name was john. He said he was a CCCS credit counselor and gave me his certificate number to verify ..

He actually was trying to explain to me that the debt consolidation does not hurt your credit at all. They have many programs and some that would hurt your credit and others that will not but since we are not late he suggested the Debt consolidation have you heard of this program? It turns out the monthly payments are what we pay in minimums anyways 400 approx a month on just minimum payments . With this plan 3 1/2 years paying 426.00 month and we will be done
We owe 13,575.38 in this program he could not put some of the debt in which was about 500.00 .. In the end of the 3-4 years we would have paid with fees 18,763.00 with fees and interest so I guess in a nutshell it would be 5168.62 in fees interest as he says it saving 20,000 in fees just making minimums..
He said they go through a recorded verifcation to make sure I would uderstand the process thoroughly. So has anyone heard of this company and have had any procgress? Does it really hurt your credit Worse than it is now??? Is this the program you were trying to have me find? He says he is a CCCs credit counselor..
Any thoughts on this company ?

Nothing usually is as good as it sounds. Maybe you can find some worthy companies through this site or through searching the internet. I believe there probaly are some pretty good places out there and the bad ones just gave the good ones a not so nice name. Is rhere any way you can contact some of these credit card places and see if they would be willing to work with you?

Hi creditcards
I have studied your situation and have come to the conclusion that there is no way out to get rid of this debt. The amount is so high that it is even difficult to get a debt consolidation loan. Moreover, you have already filed a Chapter 7 bankruptcy which has already devastated your credit score. If you don't have a source of income to pay back this $24000, under payment plan, it is not worth going for debt consolidation. All you can do is to wait for the creditor to sue you to the court.

if you consolidate your debt does it ruin your chances with a parent plus loan? Does this consolidation help your credit score or ruin it in any way?

The answer to your question is in the question itself. It is not that elseone would help the most but it's you. The 'take it easy' is the problem and loan habit itself is dangerous. Anyway, first comes the debt consolidation, if not, then comes arbitration ( to reduce actual loan figures on hardship filing- no need of fresh loan). If that is not the the solution then go for Obama's new package on hardship filing for your home. Still not working, then go for rent back home (You have only rental type charge on your home, selling the house on rent back option & if possible on buy back).
Yet not solved with problems, then adjust the situation. There are alternatives with hopes. Afterall why file backrupcy? Did anyone ever gave up eating when food is not available?

DEVID 85,

The analogy you gave about eating is not at all relevant to the bankruptcy, so I differ from you on the subject. But, at the same time you have given so many options but forgot to elaborate either of this option.

Realistic solutions do attract the audience, not the phantasmagoria.

I do not have any intention to hurt you but just wanted to pinpoint what i felt about the reply. Arrow Arrow Arrow

Have seen lots of people asking info on bad credits. Well, if you need to get your problem solved on<!--bad credit, you must know to how to confront it. Of course, Even if you have bad credit, you can get loans. Many factors can contribute to someone getting a "bad credit" rating, among these are non-payment of an account or late payments over an extended length of time. Take a look on the website which provides details on getting loans.

Getting a loan to pay off your debt is like robbing Peter to pay Paul. It just doesn’t work.

We’re a non-profit BBB rated A+ debt consolidation agency. If you’re really serious about getting out of debt and its only $14k I will consolidate your debt for $10 a month, no enrollment fee, no other fees. Im offering this to you and other individuals who are truly in a financial hardship and cannot receive good honest help without breaking the bank. Check us out on the BBB or calling and ask for me – Michael Brazier, 800-801-1915 x 224. Our program will help improve your credit over time by reducing your overall balances and consecutive timely payments each billing cycle.

There are real companies out there helping people like ours that truly help people get out of debt and the scams and settlement companies are really giving ‘debt management’ a bad name, making it hard for true non-profits like us to stay ahead. Hence this forum post, we cant spend much in advertising but if I can come on here and answer questions and provide free financial advice then we’ve helped someone somehow.

Like they say, If you refinance, you only add more debt. Try calling companies and reduce the debts.. When you get one paid then use the extra money to pay off another one. This is the same method most of those companies use. Never give personal info out on the internet. Also if its worth doing, sit up, pay attention, and do it yourself. You will learn how, just look around. These are wonderful people. Don't trust anyone offering loans, they will do more harm than good.

Id have to agree with Ruthie, taking out a loan is like robbing Peter to Paul Paul. Taking on new debt to absolve another doesn't solve anything and could effect your credit score negatively.

The balance transfer tango doesn't work either.

Our certified credit counselors have more than consolidation answers for those seeking assistance with their debts. Were A+ with the BBB and were really here to help people.

No commissions, everyone's paid hourly. Give us a cal and see what we can come up with, you'd be surprised!
