Hi Leah,

Pay day loans are considered illegal in 15 states. The states are Arkansas, Connecticut, Georgia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Vermont, West VirginiaIn addition payday lending is illegal in District of Columbia, Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.

However, payday loans are considered legal in Florida. However, only 1 payday loan can be taken at a time and rollovers are not allowed though repayment plans are available. If you face any kind of problem with payday loans you can report to Florida Office of Financial Regulation. Their address and contact info:

Division of Securities and Finance, 200 E. Gaines Street Tallahassee FL 32399
Phone - (850) 410-9805
Fax - (850) 410-9748

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Aaron

I am from Puerto Rico and I have been having problems with this lender. As I understand it, they are illegal in Puerto Rico. They keep taking money from my account and I can't find any information to contact them. Do you have any information? Any info on how to proceed?
