I have defaulted on 4 credit cards approx. 2 years ago due to huge cut in income. I owe about 20 grand between the 4. I have tried to set up affordable payments but they want huge down payment and 200 per month just on one card. I can't afford that or I would have never defaulted in the first place! Only my husband is working and we are just getting by. i tried to offer 50 to 75 per month but they wouldn't accept.What I want to know is if I get sued, could I make payment arrangements while I'm there and does the interest and other stuff drop or freeze? It all seems hopeless.
