I have an overpayment from the EDD state Unemployment in California. Recently, they filed a court judgment and added interest on which is double and may garnishment towards my payroll checks. Who can I find that can help me try and make other payment arrangements? The monthly payments ($1,000 monthly) that California EDD wants me to pay are too high and not realistic, but so is the overpayment amount; $28,700, interest accruing daily. I had not done anything, but recently landed a good job as a bus driver, but don’t want these wages garnished. I also had a part-time job as a caregiver. My combined monthly income is $ 2400 and my monthly living expenses come to $2400. What do I do?

You can consult with a good wage garnishment attorney who may help you to negotiate with your creditors and get an alternative payment plan. This plan may help you to repay your dues and lead a tension free life.
