Can I sue for over-garnishment of wages?

I live in the state of Maryland. My wages have been garnished by a law firm on behalf of Capital One for a credit card bill. The judgement was paid in full on Sept 10th. The law firm collecting the garnishment confirmed the judgment satisfaction by email and a letter. They also filed a writ with the court to stop the garnishments on Sept 21. Even though I paid them off, my check was garnished for $435 again later that week. I live paycheck to paycheck and have only $300 in savings. This garnishment has turned my financial situation from bad to worse. I can not afford to pay my bills for basic necessities. I want the firm or Capital One to pay me back for the overpayment. Can I also sue them for damages on top of the over-payment?

I would suggest you consult an attorney.
