Hard inquiries are made whenever you apply for a new line of credit, be it a credit card application or a personal loan application. Whenever, the creditor pulls out your report for checking your credit history, a hard inquiry is made in your report. Each hard inquiry reduces your credit score by as much as 5 to 10 points. More and more hard inquiries suggest that you are credit hungry which gives a negative image to the creditors. Hard inquiries remain in your credit report for 2 years after which it gets automatically removed.

Hard inquiries can stay in your credit report only if such an inquiry is authorized by you, or in other words, a creditor can make a hard inquiry only after you have applied for a new line of credit and not before that. If you have not applied for a new line of credit and find that an inquirer is listed against a hard inquiry, just send them a letter asking them either to remove the hard inquiry listing or verify your authorization. The inquirers remove the listing from your credit report if they cannot verify your authorization.

Yes, you should send a letter to the inquirer immediately by certified mail. If you can get at least 5 to 6 hard inquiries removed from your credit report, your score will come up by at least 30 points. There is a sample letter in this forum to remove hard inquiry. You can just personalize it by putting in your name and address and the name of the inquirer. You can get the letter by visiting the link letters of credit

Is it possible to have hard inquiries removed that were approved by you?

I have 8 inquiries that I want removed, however they were not un-authorized by me. I do have multiple inquires from when I bought the house last year (3). Is it possible to have them removed?

Hi Carmen,

Authorized hard inquiries cannot be removed. They will fall off after 2 years from the date of entry on your credit report. However, you can still try to dispute these with the credit bureaus. If your luck favors, this may work.

Thanks,

Aaron

A Chase banker at a branch convinced me to apply for a business card since I have a business checking account with them. She assured me that it was going to be a soft pull. I asked twice and she said she promised that it would be a soft. Now, after I got home I checked and it was a hard pull. I am so angry right now.

What should I do?

Hi John,

Whenever you apply for new credit, there would be a hard pull on your credit report.

It can never be so if you have applied for a credit card. The creditor needs to pull our credit report to check how reliable you are.

Thanks,

Aaron

Hello everyone, I have been battling with my credit score because it was very low until a friend of mine introduced me to a best hacker named COMPUTERSPYEXPERTS he helped increase my credit score from 550 to 800. I was really surprised that he helped me do it within 72 hours, even though I doubted him at first because he told me to pay the service fee before any action can take place after I paid 500 dollar upfront payment. Then you pay the rest after he finishes the job. Contact him (COMPUTERSPYEXPERTS at GMAIL dot COM) He's the best and really affordable. also Tex t (4 6 9) 8 4 4 - 0 5 3 6

This article was very useful. I had a bank do a hard pull when they told me they were going to check if I pre-qualified. The bank agreed to remove the inquiry but never did and I disputed that with Experian. Experian, however refused to remove the inquiry with the reason that the bank had “permissible purpose”. Filing a complaint with the CFPB with the bank manager’s promise was enough to make them remove it. All my effort to get this done was proven effortless until I came across this credit instructor who instructed me on how to get it done on my own after we both agreed on a deal he helped me get this done and all inquiry and other item were removed on my report and my score increased to its maximum (780 Excellent). Thanks Computer Surgeon for a great job. You can reach him if you need a similar service he will help you get it done with no problem in future (computer.surgeon@outlookcom)

You do need to talk with a credit repair professional. I know of someone who you can talk to and you can ask him questions if he can help with your situation. He charges reasonable fees but he will tell you if he can help you or not. If he does not there is no charge. Take a chance. Also, you may need to know that owning a home now is less expensive for you than renting. If you can solve this problem and re direct your goal to owning a home that will be more beneficial for you in the long haul. contact (COMPUTERSPYEXPERTS@GMAIL. COM) (8 5 9) 7 8 0 - 3 7 7 9
