My credit report indicate chapter 13 filing, should creditors remove old reporting

Hi trayc,

Welcome to this community :)

Yes, you can dispute the listing depending on how old the reporting is. It's a chapter 13 bankruptcy and according to Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) chapter 13 bankruptcy is supposed to stay on your credit report for 7 years. So, if the bankruptcy reporting is 7 years old and it still has not fallen off the credit report, you can dispute with the credit bureaus.

Thanks,

Aaron
