I am a Hurricane Katrina evacuee who was duped into putting $8,000 down on a used 2005 Malibu that cost $13,500. Then I was to pay $393/month for 60 months. Your debt has been discharged means that you are not required to pay off the outstanding debt any more. You need not do anything now because the Federal Govt might have discharged the loan because of Katrina.
If your identity is actually stolen, you should immediately set an extended fraud alert service with the credit bureaus which remains active for seven years and you need to provide the bureaus with an identity theft report.
