I was served with papers that fredrick j hanna and ass are suing me. on behalf of another company that is assignee of a major credit card, the debt is over 5 years old, I live in ga. How should i answer the suit, or should i get a lawyer to handle it for me.

You live in Georgia right? In Georgia, the Statute of Limitations for open ended accounts is 4 years. Credit card accounts are generally considered to be open-ended accounts and since the CA cannot sue you after your debt has crossed the SOL. I think you should write an SOL expiry letter to the CA letting them know that the SOL for your debt has passed and they cannot sue you now for the 5 years old debt.
